Lara Croft Costume Coming for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

Earlier today, developer/publisher Square Enix announced the first DLC costume pack for the upcoming Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII game available for PS3 and Xbox 360 on Feb. 11, 2014.

This first DLC costume pack will provide players with a Lara Croft costume as made famous in the 2013 hit game, Tomb Raider. A video preview is available on Square Enix’s youtube page, and it looks fantastic! The costume pack includes not only Lara’s vest, shorts and boots, but also an exclusive Survivor’s Axe and Riot Shield, which will come in very handy during combat.

The costume DLC pack will be available for download on release day for Lightning Returns from PlayStation®Store and the Xbox Games Store for Xbox 360.

LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII will be available on February 11, 2014 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, as well as a digital download on the PlayStation®Network, for $59.99. The game is coming soon to Xbox 360 Games on Demand. The collector’s edition will be available in limited quantities for both platforms and will be sold exclusively at the Square Enix Online Store for $89.99.

According to the game website, in Lightning Returns players will take control of Lightning once again as she explores Nova Chrysalia and attempts to save as many new souls as possible. It is now 500 years after the events of Final Fantasy XIII-2, the world is ending in a devastating flood and there are only 13 days left before the end! The god Bhunivelze has charged Lightning with saving the souls of humanity by delivering them to the new world, which means Lightning will face her greatest challenge yet.

The game will feature a 24 hour day cycle, which means that each player will have a slightly different experience when playing through the game. There is also a revamped combat system, allowing players to control Lightning like never before, with blocks, dodges, and counters of the utmost precision.
