Minecraft Coming To The PS3

Owen of Mojang, @bopogamel, announced today on the playstation.com blog as well as on the frontpage of Mojang.com that Minecraft will be reaching the PS3 on December 17th 2013.  We’ve already heard that the console version would be spreading to the other consoles like mycelium over dirt, and with the same excitement and a giggle of anticipation, we’re finally seeing the first steps of the spread.

The game isn’t without previous success as reported by both Markus Persson and 4J Studios on December 13th 2013.

The game is a welcome addition to any console and is scheduled to hit every active console in both the playstation and xbox families as reported back on August 22, 2013 at mojang.com.

Sony fans rejoice! The rumours are true. Minecraft is indeed coming to PS3, PS4, and Vita. We’re delighted to spread the Minecraft love to a new family of consoles.

As previously confirmed, Minecraft is also coming to Xbox One. There’s no need to feel left out, no matter your choice of future console.

We’re not quite ready to share dates and details yet, but as soon as we are I’ll get them posted.

Have a good day everyone!

Owen – @bopogamel

It’s pretty much a given that Minecraft will be a hit on any console it touches and we can only hope that more and more will be developed for it along the lines of the Skyrim Minecraft Mashup to keep the game hearty and healthy well through this next console generation.
