Evarwyn and Rob are joined by Elder Scrolls Online guide and build creator and strategist, Jake, from Deltia’s Gaming! They sit down to discuss Update 5 on the Public Test Server and the announced changes coming to the game that this ambitious new update will bring! Get excited folks, because some of the most requested changes to the game are inbound. We analyze them for you on this episode.
Firmware update 1.70 was detailed in a Playstation Blog post today, announcing several requested features. A rich video editor, dubbed SHAREFactory, allows you to edit your captured videos in much greater detail than before. It also allows you to add your own music as well as commentary should you so choose. It looks pretty awesome. Check it out below:
Unfortunately, no mention was made of directly uploading your creations to YouTube. However, you will have the ability to export your video to a USB drive which can then be used to share anywhere you wish. Here’s hoping direct YouTube uploading will arrive soon.
Additionally, the new firmware will allow you to shut off HDCP should you wish to capture output directly from HDMI. This will allow gamers to capture even longer clips and of course, allow them to share their captured footage anwhere – a long requested feature.
Also announced was the ability to preload preordered games. This functionality essentially allows you to download a preordered game before it’s released so that come release day, you’re ready to game. This is a feature that’s long existed on PC so it’s great to see it arrive on consoles. Given that digital distribution on consoles is becoming more and more prevalent, it seems only natural to include such a feature.
No date was revealed for the release of 1.70. Hopefully, the update arrives before the month is out.
It was recently announced that Xbox One would be getting a new update in March, but details on that update were not revealed…until now.
Marc Whitten, Chief Product Officer for Microsoft, provided details about the update through a post on Xbox Wire. The update will focus on updating the Xbox One party and multiplayer systems before Titanfall’s release on March 11th. Included in the update are several key features that were noticeably missing at launch:
Chat with friends playing different games.
A more accessible friends list from the home page.
Party chat will now be turned on by default. You will no longer be required to turn party chat on when joining a group.
“Invite Friends to Game” will now be included in multiplayer games.
The addition of a “Recent Players” tab to easily add new friends or followers.
More details regarding the the March update will be released at a later date. Until then, you can read about Xbox One’s most recent update here.
Marc Whitten, Chief Product Officer for Microsoft, has announced via Xbox Wire that two Xbox One updates will soon be arriving in preparation for Titanfall.
The first update will arrive on February 11th, and will add a few helpful features:
The ability to manage your storage space
The ability to change your install lineup
A visual battery power indicator on the home screen
USB keyboard compatibility
Whitten promises more features to be included in the February 11th update, but specifics on those will arrive at a later date.
The next update will roll out on March 4th, and looks to correct a few things before Titanfall’s arrival. Included will be fixes for the multiplayer chat and party systems. While details of the patch have not been announced, Microsoft hopes this patch will alleviate some of the concern players have had since the launch of the Xbox One.
According to Whitten, more details on these updates will be arriving soon. We will keep you posted here at QGN when more information is released.
In a recent post from Rift Junkies, once previous “limited time sales” are no more! This is good news if you didn’t have the chance to snatch one of these up in time. The issue, it seems, was due to one pesky logistical problem – timezones. Yup, unfortunately if you were’t able to snag a Shadow Hellbug because you were at work due to your timezone, you were completely out luck.
It seems that Trion has put a halt to these “limited time sales”…at least for now. Should they come back, let’s hope for all your Rift players that your time and availability is taken into account! Yay timezones!
